Happy Candies

All things have been handed over to me by my Father. -Matthew 11:27
I was having a bad time at work when my Grade 2 student approached me. She told me, "Teacher, I just noticed, you seem not so happy today. Here, I want you to have these happy candies so you will feel happy!" She handed me two lemon candies then hugged me.

These are just one of the little gestures my students do to show their love and affection. I believe that through these children, God is showing me how He loves me.

In our busy lives, He never fails to show us how much He cares for us. He is present to the security guard who greets you "good morning" every time you pass by your school or building, to your friend who gives you a smile and a warm hug to let you know everything will be alright or to your parents who ask how your day was. Whatever we need, He gives us through other people. Every time you feel bad, God is always there to hand you some "happy candies" to brighten up your day.

Reflection: Who are your happy candies in your life?

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for sending people in my life just to let me know how much You love me.

Where Do Broken Hearts Go?

When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, "do not weep." -Luke 7:13
Where do really broken hearts go? This is one of the questions that is hard to answer.

When my first boyfriend and I broke up years ago, I didn't have any idea on where to start. I didn't know who the right people to talk to. I preferred being alone for a long moment. Almost every night, I would even cry. Not until I realized I was wasting my time drowning myself in my own tears.

For the longest time, I thought I was alone. I forgot that my Heavenly Father was always there for me. While I was crying alone in one corner, I know He was just looking and waiting for me to raise my head up so I could notice Him. It took me some time to know He was just right in front of me. I offered Him my broken heart as I weep. I knew that when I gave it to Him, He said to me, "stop crying now, My child. Let go a part of your heart that only I can heal. Know that I'm always here, comforting you in My arms."

Reflection: Do you have a broken heart? Let Him heal you.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for making us whole again with Your comfort and love.
